Content marketing is a marketing strategy that involves the creation, publication, and distribution of content to a target audience. It is used to not only bring new traffic to your brand or business, but also to retain current customers by staying fresh and modern. 


Businesses today still believe that content marketing is limited to writing blogs and keeping their website up-to-date—but it’s so much more than that. Content Marketing involves creating a unified brand with consistent use of language, tone and terminology that is utilized across multiple platforms. This includes: social media, blogs, webpages, press releases and statements, and traditional marketing materials. Making sure that content is consistent across all of these platforms is crucial for not only SEO, but for building a reputable and trustworthy brand that will withstand the test of modern times. 


Content has the power to engage people over long periods of time, instilling trust when they consider whether to buy your product, services or listen to your advice. People who regularly follow your content will start to feel a personal connection to your brand other than just a company logo. 


Most importantly—content sells. Whether that is selling a product or service, an ideology or philanthropy, content will be your most successful sales pitch. Think through your content strategy through and ask yourself what your consumers would want to see. Measure the results after a campaign or event and evaluate your content strategy constantly. This will allow you to tweak your strategy and eventually you’ll hit the jackpot, which will lead to more sales.


The power to change, starts with content. What do you bring to the table that will make people stop and listen in a digital age filled with noise? Content is your voice, your creativity, your ideology and your morals. This is why content is still king in 2018.
